Gadar 2 box office collection Day 7: Sunny Deol film crosses Rs 300 crore mark in India, to enjoy second successful weekend

Gadar 2, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, achieved a noteworthy collection of Rs 22 crore on its seventh day.

Gadar 2, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, is asserting its dominance at the box office, consistently enticing thousands of film lovers to theatres even during weekdays, in stark contrast to the prevailing Bollywood trends observed since the Covid era commenced.

The film’s triumphant momentum shows no signs of waning, as it achieved a noteworthy collection of Rs 22 crore on its seventh day of release on Thursday, according to early estimates shared by industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, Gadar 2‘s total earnings in the domestic market have now reached an impressive nett earning of Rs 283.35 crore. The film’s domestic gross collection stands at Rs 308.5 crore.

The industry tracker has also predicted that the movie is poised to generate around Rs 17 crore on Friday, pushing it beyond the Rs 300-crore mark in the domestic market in just eight days.

Gadar 2 records overall 35.06 per cent Hindi occupancy

On Thursday, the period action drama also recorded an overall 35.06 per cent Hindi occupancy.

While the film witnessed a 16.17 per cent occupancy in the Hindi market for morning shows, as the day progressed, the percentages steadily surged, reaching 29.20 per cent for afternoon shows, 41.77 per cent for evening shows, and 53.09 per cent for night shows. With no big releases on Friday, the film will enjoy another smooth weekend at the box office.

While the film is still in its first week in theatres, it has already become the second-highest domestic grosser of the year, after Pathaan. Gadar 2 had earlier crossed The Kerala Story’s lifetime collection of Rs 242.20 crore.

Gadar 2 was released on August 11 and started its box office journey with Rs 40.1 crore on its opening day. The film has been performing exceedingly well at the cinemas despite competition from Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, and Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Directed by Anil Sharma and bankrolled by Zee Studio and Anil Sharma Productions, Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar, which was one of the highest grossers of that year.
